Matthew Carpenter was born in Talladega, Alabama. When he was seven years old the Lord convicted him of his utter lost state. Knowing he was a sinner under God’s wrath drove him to despair, but through the quickening power of the Holy Spirit he found deliverance in Jesus Christ. He graduated from Jacksonville State University with a degree in secondary education and a concentration in history, and later from the University of Alabama with a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership. He served as the Minister of Music at Siberton Baptist Church, was ordained as a Southern Baptist minister, then came to the Gadsden Primitive Baptist Church where he has been licensed to preach and regularly fills the pulpit. He teaches United States history, government, and economics at Pell City High School. He is married to the most beautiful lady he has ever met, Amanda. They have been married for just over one year and are hopeful the Lord will soon grant them children. He is an avid reader and enjoys collecting books from a variety of genres to fill his home library. He also enjoys cooking, spending time with his wife and family, and getting together with other men to discuss scriptures, politics, and to play an occasional game of basketball or tennis. |
