Robert G. Hamilton was born in Pyengyang, Korea in 1921. His parents, Rev. and Mrs. Floyd E. Hamilton, served as Presbyterian missionaries for many years in Korea. After graduating from college in 1943, Robert realized God had called him to serve on the mission field. He soon began his post-graduate theological education in Philadelphia, PA. where he met Helen Lawrence, the young girl who later became his wife. They served as missionaries among the Arabs in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan from 1953 to 1968. Robert graduated from high school in 1939 from Pyengyang Foreign School. He then earned his B.A. from Wheaton College and his M.Div. from Reformed Episcopal Seminary. He did post-graduate work at Faith Theological Seminary and Covenant Theological Seminary. He is also a graduate of the Summer Institute of Linguistics where he studied Arabic. After serving three congregations and a rescue mission in Indiana and a congregation in New Brunswick, Canada, Rev. Hamilton retried from the active ministry in 1997. He and Helen have four married sons, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. |
